my experience and expertise

As my diverse academic and professional background can attest, my core competency is my expertise in navigating between being an interdisciplinarian and a specialist.

While my academic background is in the humanities, in my professional career, I have also edited over 850 projects in the social and hard sciences, spanning subjects from marketing psychology and financial economics to neuroscience and applied mathematics.

I am comfortable, competent, and, most importantly, interested in knowledge from any and every field of study, which affords me a unique and multidimensional perspective and a more versatile skill set compared to purely specialist academics.

And it is precisely because of this diverse knowledge base and skill set that I have been able to develop as an editing specialist, as they enable me to precisely synthesize my accumulated knowledge, capabilities, and the skills of my craft to consider your whole project from its spacing to its scholarly context and significance.

faqs

Even if your paper is beautifully written and your editing skills are top notch, it is always useful to have another eye on your work, not only to correct any errors you may have missed but also to gain the perspective of the other most important person involved in your writing: your reader.
Academic editors are not just any readers—we have the academic background, experience, and skills required to give you useful and insightful feedback on your scholarly work. We are experts in helping authors ensure that their writing is clear, precise, well structured, and error-free to maximize its reach and impact.
No, I am happy to edit any kind of writing project that may require editing.
This includes works of fiction/nonfiction, cover letters, important emails, website text, etc. Just send me an email, and I will be happy to discuss a personalized service.
However, I will note that I do not currently accept orders for editing resumes or application documents.
As another special service, thanks to my many years in the legal field, I am also able to provide legal editing and citation services if required, and I am proficient in the Legal Bluebook style.
- All my services ensure error-free grammatical editing and proofreading, including grammar, spelling, and mechanics.
- With my ‘+’ services (Proofreading+, Line Editing+, and Structural Editing+), extensive individualized comments where I explain my edits and provide suggestions to enhance future writing.
- Timely communication for any questions, comments, or requests.
- Full formatting services (if requested), including applying any style guide and ensuring correct reference formatting.
- A friendly and helpful service—I know how stressful it can be to know someone else is looking over your work! It is important to me that you feel comfortable and confident as we work together.
- Guaranteed confidentiality. I have the utmost respect for your unpublished research; therefore, I guarantee that I will protect and hold your work in the strictest confidence.
- Unlike other editing services, I do not charge extra to revise cover letters for journal submissions or reviewer responses. They’re included in the price—just include them in your word count!
If you are not sure which service you would like after reviewing the descriptions and examples above, or if you have specific requests, send me an email. I am happy to answer any questions, with no obligations!
Not confident in your English skills? No problem!
While some services charge extra to assist writers who are not native English speakers, I offer services for international and ESL scholars for no added cost.
I understand that when English is not your first language, the task of perfecting your paper to the high standards of English journals can be overwhelming.
Even if the grammar and language are perfectly correct, there is the added barrier that non-fluent writers may not have mastered the finer points of English usage, for example, common phrases, tone, and word choice.
You deserve a level playing field.
I have worked for multiple prominent English editing services and edited hundreds of projects for international writers, so I have the expertise and, more importantly, the care and understanding required to ensure that your meaning is expressed in advanced and elegant English.
No, there is no minimum word count. I accept projects of any size, but I do have a minimum order fee of $30 for papers that are 1,000 words or less.

meet your editor

Hi! I’m Haley C.

I’ve always been in love with language and learning, and I always knew my career would involve the pursuit and production of knowledge.

However, being an interdisciplinary learner and knowledge lover for knowledge’s sake made pinning down a major, and then a career path, difficult.

So, after completing four diverse degrees, contemplating (and ultimately opting out of) a career in academia, and sharpening my professional skills in a legal career in the meantime, I decided I wouldn’t wait for my dream to materialize. I would make it myself.

Working with you is my dream.
